Celebrating America’s 250th

On the fateful night of April 18, 1775, Boston silversmith Paul Revere rode from Boston to Lexington, warning that British forces were advancing against the fragile promise of American independence.
His ride was more than an alarm—it awakened a scattered and diverse group of colonists to the understanding that their newfound liberty could only be preserved through unity, sacrifice, and shared purpose.
In that moment, ordinary citizens were galvanized into action, in the belief that freedom will endure only when communities stand as one against forces beyond their control.
As we celebrate our nation’s 250th anniversary, the symbolism of that night still resonates: the strength of democracy lies in neighbors caring for one another and responding together when help is needed most.
Pequannock Valley Rotary invites you to honor Paul Revere’s ride by displaying two candles in your window beginning on April 18. Two candles packages are available for $20, and all proceeds will support residents of Pequannock, Lincoln Park and Riverdale rebuild after fire, flood, and other natural disasters.
